Our Story
Kiwi Cycling Company is a small family based business in Taupo. We produce unique New Zealand cycle shirts specially targeted to people travelling overseas and for tourists that would like a special memento of their visit here.

Di Michels
I am a graphic designer and I produce the designs for these cycle shirts that reflect the clean, fresh, fun culture of New Zealand.
My other half (Roel) and I have a passion for the outdoors and our incredible country - New Zealand. I have had the privilege to represent New Zealand in rowing, orienteering and mountain bike orienteering. We have participated in adventure racing which encompasses lots of different sports including cycling, trekking and kayaking. These sports have enabled me to go to special places in New Zealand and around the world. I'm not so driven to be actively involved in competitive sport now but spend a lot of time on my cycle touring with Pai in New Zealand and overseas.

Nigel Michels
I am Di's son..... I am responsible for all the stock, distribution and sales connections. I have a strong association to cycling as this is my only means of transport.

The story of Pai
Paihikara was given to Di in May 2012 as a gift before her first self supported cycle tour in Europe.
His name is the maori word for cyclist.
He rode on the top of the panniers for most of the 5,000km cycle tour through Holland, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Norway.
Pai has been the inspiration behind the cycling kiwi logo and plays a big roll in our marketing.
Pai joins Di on all her long rides around our fantastic country and through the back roads and trails overseas.
